ABU DHABI- Syria’s national football team on Thursday lost 0-2 to its Jordanian counterpart within the second round of second group stage of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, SANA reported.
The Jordanian team leads the group with 6 points followed by the Syrian team , the Palestinian team with one point, and finally the Australian team without points waiting for the result of the match due to be held on Friday between the Australian and Palestinian teams.
Syria will play with Australia its last match in the group on January 15.
Syrian Football federation deposes German coach Stange
According to SANA, the Syrian Football Federation deposed coach Bernd Stange after the national football team lost its second match 0-2 to Jordan.
The football federation appointed national coach Fajre Ibrahim to lead the team and prepare for the next match against Australia next Tuesday.
