“Within this framework, the ministry is working at the level of all governorates, with the participation of the directorates of environment, education, agriculture, health and non-governmental environmental associations to activate the celebration of this day through concerted efforts to organize a set of environmental awareness activities and events aimed at raising environmental awareness among community members, consolidating the concepts of voluntary work and environmental citizenship, and consolidating the role of society in changing patterns of behavior and negative habits in dealing with the environment,” al-Hayek added.

He stressed that awareness-raising meetings and environmental seminars will be held,  public field environmental campaigns will be implemented, including hygiene and afforestation campaigns, in addition to  markets and exhibitions of environmental and natural products, scientific exhibitions including environmental paintings and recycled environmental materials.
