National Earthquake Center: 12 Tremors Recorded during The Past 24 Hours
The National Earthquake Center on Thursday announced that 12 weak and medium tremors were recorded during the past 24 hours.
The Center stated in a statement, reported by SANA, that the stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network recorded one tremor, 40 km northwest of Lattakia measuring magnitude 1.9 on the Richter scale and two tremors in Hama, one of which was 6 km northeast of Hama with an intensity of magnitude 3.1 and the second was 10 km northeast of Hama with an intensity of magnitude 2.1.
The Center added that 4 tremors were monitored in Liwa Iskenderun with an intensity ranged between magnitude 2.2 and 6.2 on the Richter scale. 4 tremors were recorded in Turkey, the strongest of which was magnitude 4.1, and one in the Mediterranean Sea with an intensity of magnitude 4.8. It indicated that the all the tremors occurred at different depths, reaching 35.8 km.
