The First National Conference on Food Quality and Safety kicked off in Damascus on Saturday under the slogan “the Quality of Food Industries in the Syrian Arab Republic”.
The conference will highlight food technical regulations and its standard specifications, quality of machines, standards of international organizations, food safety management system, the role of detecting fraud in food safety, food spoilage factors and food quality among other topics.
Several parties are taking part in this conference including the Center for Scientific Studies and Research, Damascus University, FAO, the Technical Institute for Laser Research, the General Authority for Biotechnology, the Syrian Arab Standards and Metrology Organization, the Syrian Chemical Society and other local and foreign bodies and institutions that are concerned in the food sector, food industries and food safety.
The conference was organized by the Syrian Scientific Society for Quality in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and in partnership with the Excellence Business Center.
