National Cancer Screening Campaign in Homs concluded

The National Cancer Screening Campaign, organized by the National Cancer Control Program, was concluded today in Homs Governorate. The campaign, which was held under the title “Your awareness is your strength”, aimed at screening three types of tumors, namely breast, cervix, and prostate.

The Director of Homs Health Directorate, Dr. Musallam al-Atassi, stated that the campaign has provided more than 28,000 free services to men and women since its launching. The targeted people benefited from the free medical examinations conducted by the hospitals and health centers participating in the campaign, in addition to the four mobile medical clinics that toured the Governorate’s countryside and rural areas.

Al-Atassi pointed to the high turnout of citizens to benefit from the campaign’s services and to the double efforts exerted by the health and technical cadres on the last day of the campaign in order to reach the largest number of beneficiaries. He clarified that the tests were carried out according to a unified diagnostic protocol, to ensure accurate results.
