Nasrallah: Syria has been at the forefront of the countries that support the Lebanese resistance

Hizbollah Secretary general Hassan Nasrallah has stressed that Syria has been at the forefront of the countries that have supported the Lebanese resistance, pointing out that Lebanon would be exposed to a massive danger if the terrorist organizations achieved their schemes in Syria.

In a statement during a ceremony in Bakaa, marking the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Lebanon, Nasrallah said the new Lebanese parliament and government should spare no effort to restore normal relations between Lebanon and Syria, including economic realtions, because Lebanon will greatly benefit from this step.

Concerning the electoral campaigns, Nasrallah said that “some candidates are raising stupid topics in their anti-Hezbollah campaigns”.

“We have seen electoral campaigns based on hatred and weird ideas. Such campaigns indicate the level of recklessness of those who present themselves as future leaders,” he said.

He explained that the aim of such an anti-Hizbollah political, economic, media and financial campaign is to make the Bekaa residents give up resistance and its weapons.

“The weapon of the resistance didn’t prevent any party from reforming the electricity sector or building dams and it wasn’t the party that made the horrible financial policies during the past decades,” Nasrallah clarified.

He pointed out that Washington, in cooperation with its affiliated forces in the country, is the party that has helped smuggle the Lebanese depositors’ money abroad, and it is the party that has hindered investments in Lebanon and starved the Lebanese people.
