The Syrian feature film Najmat Al-Subh (The Morning Star) has opened the Cinema Days shows launched on Friday within the diverse cultural program accompanying the Syrian Book Fair currently held at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus.
The film is directed by Joud Saeed and produced by the National Film Organization. Its scenario was written also by filmmaker Joud Saeed in partnership with the scenarist Samah Al-Qattal.
The movie depicts the suffering of the Syrian women, who were kidnapped and tortured by the terrorists in the Syrian province of Lattakia. It presents a virtual vision that is based on reality and that tries to find artistic solutions for several problems created by the war on Syria with focus on the idea of hope.
Starring in the film are actors Mohammed Al-Ahmad, Husain Abbas, Yusuf Al-Muqbel, Karam Al-Sha’rany, Nadia Sidqi and others.
The film won the audience’s Golden Tanit Award at the 30th session of Carthage Film Festival in 2019.
