Mustafa Ali Gallery Launches Virtual Art Forum 2020

The rise of Covid-19 has forced cultural movements to explore alternative digital spaces with online exhibition and forums and a rise in virtual reality.

The Corona virus has led cultural institutions and galleries  to close, but these virtual experiences can still enrich your life with art in the meantime

Mustafa Ali Gallery in Damascus has launched  the project of “ Virtual Art forum”  , with the aim of creating a cultural space that allows  discovering locally new Syrian youth talents in plastic art.

The forum starting from the 15th of September maintains social distancing policy within the framework of the precautionary measures adopted to confront the CoronaVirus

The  world  Syrian sculptor  Mustafa Ali said in a statement to SANA, “We launched the  forum  this year in its first session with the aim of reflecting the sophisticated civilized face of Syrian culture and arts in general and to attract the new generation of young Syrian plastic artists in order to raise their cultural, intellectual and artistic awareness.”

He  underlined that the virtual art symposium 2020 will provide young participants with an  opportunity to express their artistic visions within a wide platform globally to convey their message and enrich their experiences through  exchanging their artistic expertise  in addition to conveying a Syrian message to the world  that Syria is  still the  center of art and culture.

A specialized committee including three accredited artists  has been formed to select the participants  .The deadline for participation in the virtual event  expires on the 11th  of September.  The participants send their  CV with some pictures of their artistic  works  to the gallery pages  via  social media.

Videos of the 20-25  artists participating  in the ten-days  forum  are due to be broadcast while they are carrying out their artistic works at their homes or studios.

The  accomplished artistic works during the virtual forum, according to sculptor  Ali, will be displayed  for two weeks at the gallery hall and on  social media  on the 28th  of  September , provided that at the end of the virtual forum , bronze shields will be distributed to the participants as a token of thanks to them.
