Muslim World League Welcomes Trump’s Announcement to Lift Sanctions on Syria

The Muslim World League warmly welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement in Riyadh to completely lift the sanctions imposed by his country on the Syrian Arab Republic.

The decision came at the request of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

In a statement issued by the League’s General Secretariat, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, described this announcement as a significant turning point for the Syrian people, consolidating their country’s stability and supporting its path to a better future.

Sheikh Al-Issa considered this announcement a new victory for Saudi diplomacy, affirming the wisdom of its leadership and its strong Islamic and international standing, a country that has always dedicated all its capabilities and efforts to achieving goodness and peace.
