Music evening by Mahmoud Al-Ajan Institute at the International Children’s Day celebration in Lattakia
“Small Hearts of a Great Homeland” is the title of a musical evening presented by students and teachers of the Mahmoud El-Ajan Institute in celebration of World Children’s Day 21 at the Al-Assad House of Culture Theatre in Latakia.
The evening cooperated between the Latakia Directorate of Culture and the Institute as part of the celebration held by the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Children’s Culture in all governorates.
The band presented various pieces of music along with a collection of songs by Um Kulthum, and musician Mohamed Abdulwahab and Najat Al-Saghira.
The band leader and Maestro at the El-Ajan Institute, Majd Younis, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the celebration is an opportunity to shed light on the talents of Syrian children who were born and raised in exceptional circumstances imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, making them more insistent on creativity and demonstrating the essence and uniqueness of the Syrians.
For his part, the Director of Lattakia Culture, Majd Sarem, considered the evening a celebration of “love, heritage, and authentic music,” which we are keen to teach to our students.
Sarem stressed that adopting and refining these talents is an administrative responsibility of cultural institutions that are committed to pursuing the passion and talents of children, whether through conservatories or centers of plastic and Applied Arts, taking into account the various talents that form the future of our country and its renaissance.
