Mushroom Shaped White Rock Known as Home of Safe People

TARTOUS-  In Tartous, the city of beauty, and accurately in the north of al-Qadamous city, the “table slab” attracts many visitors to spend most fascinating moments in nature.

Slab table, surrounded by springs and perennial trees, overlooks  a deep valley encircled by high mountains.

According to a SANA report, the mushroom shaped white rock, carved by nature, is known of several names such as the table of hungry people and homeland of safe people .

According to Director of Tartous Antiquities Directorate Rola Ibrahim, it is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in al-Qadmous.

” It is of great fame where stories narrate that it was a refuge for young people used to escape the injustice of the Ottoman occupation, ” Ibrahim told SANA reporter.

This charming white rock occupies an area of 16 square meters of height 4 m and diameter of base 7 m .

Ibrahim mentioned that this rock had witnessed periodical meetings of educated persons and intellectuals from the surrounding villages who were keen to meet and discuss their cultural works and enjoy the creativity of nature. It can accommodate a large number of people.
