Hasakah, (ST) – The young man, Muhammad Al-Farouq Omar, lost many of his works in his art exhibition in Aleppo due to terrorism. His passion for the authentic Arab heritage pushed him in spite of the hard circumstances to complete his artistic career without getting bored in the city of Qamishli- a city he came to as a visitor carrying his hopes and dreams.

“All Syrians cannot live without work and construction. We are the sons of Aleppo, who left behind them pages of ancient history,” Omar told SANA.

He pointed out that despite the displacement and difficult conditions, “I continued my artistic activity in the city of Qamishli in a simple way at first in the field of painting on Glass, wood, paper and Arabic calligraphy, in addition to designing and manufacturing jewelry and accessories from gold and silver, and making distinctive pieces of olive wood.”

Talking about the antiquity of the pieces that are made, Omar pointed out that one of the main points that distinguish the authentic heritage pieces is the quality of the materials used in the artwork, because technology in art is one of the most important details that prolongs the life of the art piece.

In the field of Arabic calligraphy, Omar relied on his special artistic talent and experience, and he became famous outside Syria, especially in Europe.

Omar believes that there is a need to hold collective art exhibitions, indicating that participation in group exhibitions gives artists an opportunity to exchange experiences, knowledge and skills that increases their artistic talents.
