Mufti: The Syrians Stayed United in the Face of Takfiri Terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun has stressed that the Syrians are united in the confrontation of takfiri terrorism and they carry a message of amity and good for all humanity.

Meeting a delegation of Iranian scholars led by Mohsen al-Araki, the General secretary of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Mufti Hassoun said that despite all foreign attempts to create sedition among them, the Syrians have kept united in the face of the takfiri terrorism which targets the values and principles of humanity and all religions.

 The mufti hailed the humanitarian message the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought carries not only to Syria ,but to the entire Islamic world, stressing that the delegation’s visit sends a message to the Syrian people telling them that they are not alone in the confrontation of takfiris, Zionists and enemies of humanity.

Hassoun thanked Iran for supporting Syria from the very beginning of the crisis and stressed that “Syria won’t forget this Iranian favor.”

On his part, al-Araki affirmed that Syria has been the fortress and sponsor of resistance. He thanked the Syrian people, leadership and scholars for their steadfastness in the face of the Zionists and the takfiri terrorists, the enemies of Islam.

Al-Araki asserted his confidence that Syria will soon triumph over terrorism and that security will be restored to Syria to help the country regain its leading role in the region.
