Mufti: Syria fights Takfiri terrorist groups came from 83 countries
TEHRAN,(ST)_Grand Mufti of the Republic has reiterated Syria is fighting terrorist organizations and Takfiri groups came from more than 83 countries to undermine Syria’s leading role in the region.
Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hasson, who was addressing the 28thsession of the Islamic Unity Conference being held in Tehran, said that targeting Syria and Lebanon and Iraq by Takfiri terrorism aims at surrounding Iran.
He urged al-Azhar in Egypt and Mecca Scholars Association as well as the International Union of Muslim Scholars to stand as one against terrorism.
The Mufti clarified that 83 countries have conspired against Syria since 4 years to destroy its mosques, churches and history.
He highly appreciated Iran’s support for Syrian people and resistance, stressing that Syria will achieve victory against terrorism.
The 28thsession of the Islamic Unity Conference kicked off on Wednesday with participation of 65 countries including Syria.
