Mufti Hassoun: Syria withstood Extremism Brought in from Abroad

MOSCOW,(ST)_  Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Ahmad Badr al-Deen Hassoun  stressed that  the Syrian government is  with dialogue and all the means to resolve the political crisis in Syria , adding that Syria declared  readiness to go to the Geneva Conference 2 without any conditions .

Hassoun said in an interview with  the Russia Today TV that Syria’s stances coincide with Russia ‘s positions concerning  dialogue and the Geneva Conference 2 , stressing that ” the homeland  does not need opposition and supporters  , but to be built  ,” calling on all parties to sit down together to build the  homeland  and end violence.

Hassoun  explained  that Syria is subjected to a terrible attack “in order to surrender concerning  the Palestinian issue ,” adding that if Syria underwent the American conditions they would have made it  the Switzerland of the Arab and the whole  world.

He stressed that Syria was able to withstand the ” extremism brought in from abroad , ” adding that ” religious extremism began  in Afghanistan , when it was  sponsored by the United States and some Arab and European countries , fueled now  by the  US under the name of jihad .”

Mufti Hassoun explained that Russia stands with peace and not with Syria because it knowsthat  ” the destruction of the Arab region in this way will extend to all the eastern partof  the world and then to the West , which thinks it  is far from this extremism.”

” Russia knew this fact and started to stand against it, with Syria, adding that the government and Russia is siding with its established principle  to that it is with the advocates of peace  and true democracy.” Hassoun underscored.

The Grand Mufti pointed out that terrorism will move into the territory of the Western countries .
