Mrs. Asma al-Assad Receives Syrian Team Ranked First in IHL Competition

The First Lady, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad received Tuesday the Syrian team that was ranked first in the first regional competition on “moot courts and implementing international humanitarian law” held last March by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Cairo University.

 According to the official facebook page for the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic, the team is composed of three master’s students in the Department of International Law in the Faculty of Law in Damascus University plus the supervisor Ahmad As’ad Omar.

The names of the students, who competed against 6 Arab teams from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Emirates, Jordan and Palestine, are: Ihab Kasibeh, Hala Dayoub and Ala’a Sheikh al-Hara.
