Mrs. Asma Al-Assad addresses Syrians via video message

DAMASCUS, May.25, (ST)_ First Lady Mrs. Asma Al-Assad has affirmed that she will fight leukemia, which she was afflicted with, with all strength and will, armed with faith and trust in God and the prayers and love of the Syrians.

In a video message broadcast before she began treatment for acute myeloid leukemia, Mrs. Al-Assad said: “Since the news of my acute Myelogenous Leukemia diagnosis was announced, I have received many of your messages full of love and support, which have given us as a family more strength in this circumstance.”

She added: “Anyone who fights a battle with the disease must have the strength and will, not only to overcome it, but also to bear his distance from the people he loves and whom he is committed to serving.”

Mrs. Al-Assad concluded by saying: “I will fight this disease with faith and absolute trust in God and in your prayers and love… See you soon.”
