MP Marwan Oulabi to ST: Ballot Boxes to Decide Who Will Lead Syria

The US administration and its international and regional tools have  plunged into disarray because of the Syrian people’s determination to never give up a single iota of their national decision to elect their leader without foreign intervention.

The recent remark made by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Syrian presidential elections as well as the intention of France and German to prevent Syrians living in their countries from voting in Syria’s presidential elections are fresh clues about the foreign intervention to impede the presidential elections.

To talk more about the reasons behind the international criticism of the forthcoming presidential elections and current situation in northern Aleppo province, the Syriatimes e-newspaper interviewed the MP Mohammad Marwan Oulabi.

The MP said that Mr. Ban Ki-moon is biased to the US and the European’s attitude and he has done nothing to solve the crisis in Syria, which has entered its fourth year.

“Actually, dialogue must be inter-Syrian to reach a solution to the ongoing crisis in the country. In Geneva II talks, the so-called ‘ opposition coalition’ rejected to firstly fully deal with the topic of terrorism before any other point,” Dr. Oulabi added.

The opposition coalition is composed of puppets in the hands of the US and western countries that just seek to take power in Syria.

That is why the US and its tools will spare no effort to hinder the forthcoming presidential elections in the country.

European countries obeys US master

“I expect that more European countries will join France and German and will prevent the Syrians in their countries from practicing their national right in order to foil the democratic constitutional process in Syria,” Dr. Oulabi said, noting that the US master orders them to do so.  

Even then the presidential elections are to be held on time as retaliation for those who want to undermine the Syrian state, people and civilization.

“Syria never bows down to pressures,” the MP said, stressing that the Syrians are peace-loving people.  

President al-Assad

Some western countries have launched an attack at President Bashar al-Assad’s candidacy for the 2014 elections because this man has led Syria despite the difficult circumstances, and he was supported by the Syrian people and army to abort the conspiracy against the country.

President al-Assad represents the steadfastness of Syria, resistance and the hope of the Arab people to face around 80 countries that exported mercenaries to Syria to destroy it according to a foreign-hatched conspiracy.

The conspiracy has been foiled thanks to the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army and people.

And now Syria is building a new democratic system, Dr. Oulabi underscored.

Positive indication

The new general election law, which is based on constitution, provides that there must be more than one candidate for the presidential elections and they must be supported by 35 members of parliament.

The democratic atmosphere encouraged 24 Syrian citizens to submit applications to the Supreme Constitutional court to register as candidates for the office of president.

This is a positive indication for he Syrian people’s will to consolidate the new democratic life.

Each citizen has the right to vote for the candidate he wants and the ballot boxes to decide who will lead Syria.

“I think that the Syrian people will vote for president Bashar al-Assad as he will rebuild Syria which terrorists and Takfiris have destroyed,” Dr. Oulabi said.

Aleppo will never be toppled

Recently, the terrorist groups cut off water supplies to Aleppo city to kill the people there and to put them in a bad mood before the presidential elections.

“Water is life. The terrorists want to kill the people in Aleppo but they will fail. I am from Aleppo which is nearly 7000 years old.  The people in Aleppo reject terrorism and violence,” Dr. Oulabi said, stressing that the Syrian government is doing its utmost to supply water to the city of Aleppo despite the difficult circumstances.

On the other hand, he declared that a reconciliation committee will head to Aleppo in the near future to pave the way for the misled men to return to the bosom of the homeland. .

“The terrorist groups prevent the misled persons from turning themselves in to the competent authorities and use innocent people as human shields in order to hinder the Syrian Arab army’s advance in several areas.”

People in the terrorists-held areas, that are adjacent to the countryside of Aleppo, do not stand by the terrorist groups, the MP asserted, adding that the Syrian state’s decision is not to negotiate with terrorists but to kill all of them.

“Aleppo will never be toppled whatever the terrorist groups do,” the MP said, clarifying that terrorist groups fire shells on urban areas and target power plants because of their military failure on the ground.  

He concluded by saying that Syria’s support for Arab resistance against Zionist entity [Israel] is the catalyst for what is going on in it.
