Mousavi: The presence of US forces in the Gulf region is a destabilizing factor
Iran has reiterated its rejection of the American military presence in the Gulf region.
“ Iran rejects the presence of illegal foreign forces in this region and it has issued repeated warnings to US forces there to abide by the laws of transportation,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a news conference on April 20.
Mousavi said that security of the region is the responsibility of Iran and the neighboring countries in the Gulf, especially Oman, which keeps security in the vital shipping lane.
In another context, Mousavi said that Tehran welcomed the work of the INSTEX mechanism for trade between Iran and European countries and the Europeans must now implement the obligations they promised to implement and signed.
