The mother of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, who is suffering from cancer, announced today Thursday that she will start a hunger strike until his release by the Israeli occupation authorities.
Palestinian media sources quoted the mother of the prisoner, Abu Hamid as saying: “Starting today, I decided to go on a hunger strike in solidarity with my son, who has been in a coma since the fourth of this month and suffers from difficult health conditions in the prisons of the occupation authorities.”
On the seventh of this month, the family of the prisoner Abu Hamid appealed, to the international community and all the free people of the world, to take urgent action to save his life in view of the policy of deliberate medical negligence practiced by the occupation against Palestinian detainees and apply pressure on the Israeli occupation to release prisoner Abu Hamid and provide him with whatever necessary medical treatment.
Palestinians in the cities and towns of the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip participate on a daily basis in vigils to support prisoner Abu Hamid, aged 49, who has been detained since 2002, demanding his release.
