Most of the judicial buildings damaged by terrorism rehabilitated

Damascus (ST): The Ministry of Justice has completed the rehabilitation of most court buildings and judicial complexes that have been subjected to vandalism and destruction as a result of terrorism, and is working to implement projects for new judicial complex buildings and the creation of new courts in the governorates.

The Director of the Engineering Office in the Ministry of Justice, Engineer Abdul Karim Fayyad, explained that the ministry is completing the work of the rehabilitation project of the second floor in the Judicial Palace building in Damascus and implementing the citizen service center project in the building, which will be put into service during the current year. In addition it is creating a clerk’s department in the Syrian Investment Authority building in Damascus, which actually started its work. It is also and allocating the notary clerk’s department in each justice or governorate in order to organize the agencies for investors and duly ratify them.

 Regarding the judicial complexes and courts in the countryside of Damascus, Fayyad indicated that work has been resumed in most of the courts in the countryside of Damascus after the completion of the restoration and rehabilitation operations that took place in coordination with the local councils and the efforts of the civil society. The last judicial complex that opened and resumed work in it is the Judicial Complex in Daraya two months ago. Work has also been resumed in Judicial courts in Al-Nashabiya, Harasta and Irbeen and the judicial complexes in Douma, Babila, Zabadani, and Qudsaya.

According to the Director of the Engineering Office, measures are being taken to rehabilitate the Kafr Batna Court at an estimated cost of 35 million Syrian pounds, while the rehabilitation work of the Mleiha Court is about to be completed, as it will be put into service within a month.

In Aleppo, the rehabilitation work is continuing, as Fayyad explained, in the computer building belonging to the University of Aleppo, to be an additional headquarters for the Justice Palace in the city, at a cost of 270 million Syrian pounds, and it will be put into service within two months, in addition to preparing a technical study for the rehabilitation of the Haritan, Al-Zarba and Tal Al-Dhaman courts, which are currently working in the headquarters of the Adas Building of for justice.

Fayyad pointed out that the Judicial Palace in Deir Ezzour has been fully rehabilitated at a cost of 268 million Syrian pounds.

He confirmed the completion of the rehabilitation work of the Judicial Complex building in Al Haffa in the Lattakia countryside and the return of the courts to work at the beginning of this year at a cost of 200 million Syrian pounds and the completion of the rehabilitation of the Judicial Palace building in Homs Al-Waer neighborhood after completing the rehabilitation of the judicial complexes in Rastan and Talkalakh And the Talbiseh and Taldo courts.

In Daraa, studies were prepared, according to Fayyad, to rehabilitate the old justice palace at a cost of 300 million pounds and to strengthen the new building of the justice palace at a cost of 140 million after reactivating the work of the courts in Jassem, Al-Harak, Khirbet Ghazala, Al-Musaifra and Dael, and creating civil appeals courts in each of Al-Sanamayn, Izraa and Nawa, and creating a judicial complex In Bosra al-Sham.

In Hama, the out-of-service courts begin their work in the Judicial Palace in Hama and in other courts.

In Idleb, Fayyad drew attention to securing a headquarters, and the Sinjar and Abu al-Duhur courts began work in it, and after the liberation of the city of Khan Sheikhoun, the headquarters of the Khan Sheikhoun Court and the Idleb Temporary Justice in Khan Sheikhoun are being prepared in coordination with Idleb Governorate.
