Moscow: Western sanctions hinder the implementation of Black Sea grain deal

MOSCOW, Sep.22, (ST)- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that the question about the possibility of extending the grain export deal through the Black Sea should be directed to the United States of America, considering that the deal is not implemented due to Western obstacles to Russian food and fertilizer exports.

“Moscow cannot talk about the implementation of the grain deal as long as the problems related to regulating Russian food and fertilizer exports to world markets remain unresolved,” Ryabkov was quoted as saying in a statement today, explaining that the question about extending the grain deal should be directed to the United States and its partners, and not to Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously asserted that the West was not fair enough regarding the grain deal from Ukraine, as most of the shipments did not go to the poorest countries as was announced, but the majority went to the countries of the European Union.
