Moscow: We are worry of Washington’s plans to help armed groups in Syria

Moscow ( ST)-Leader of the Russian Communist Party  Gennady Zoganov stressed his party’s support to Syria against the global conspiracy targeting it due to its firm principled stances.

During the meeting held with the Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad, Zoganov underlined the importance of coordinating mutual efforts to achieve peace in Syria and get the country out of the current crisis.

Haddad reiterated that steadfastness  of the Syrian people and the armed forces in confronting terrorist and aggressive forces will terminate this conspiracy and will restore security and stability to the country, calling on all Syria’s friends to offer a hand for making a success to the national dialogue.

Haddad congratulated Zoganov for being re-elected president of the Russian Communist Party, thanking the party for its stances in supporting Syria at a time when Arab, regional and international countries are involved in a conspiracy against it.

From its part, Moscow expressed its concern over the American statements about the US plans to encourage and offer weapons to the armed groups in Syria.

Russia Today channel website quoted spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich as saying:  “the attempts of strengthening and providing the opposition with weapons is very dangerous and contradict with the policy of solution in Syria”.

The Syrian opposition hasn’t appointed yet any negotiators for dialogue with the Syrian government in Damascus, Lukashevich said, adding that the Syrian government expressed its readiness to dialogue as Foreign Minister reiterated during his meeting held in Moscow.
