Moscow: We are ready to cooperate with European Union on basis of equality

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova affirmed her country’s readiness to cooperate with the European Union on the basis of mutual respect and equality.

Zakharova commented on the proposal of the European Union’s ambassador to Russia, Marcus Ederer, to re-examine the EU’s strategy toward Moscow.  TASS quoted Zakharova as commenting in an interview with Soloviev Live on YouTube: “Our position does not depend on statements made at a particular moment.  Our position is clear and can be easily understood. We are ready to cooperate with the Union on the basis of equality and mutual respect. “

Zakharova added, “If the EU is ready for such cooperation, we are open to it in all domains and in various humanitarian, political and defense issues. This is our permanent concept that has not changed for many years and decades.”
