Moscow: Washington Launches Cyber-Attacks against Russia via Ukrainians

Moscow (ST) – Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the United States is launching cyber-attacks against Russia through the Ukrainian cyber army.

Russia Today website quoted the Deputy Director of the international Information Security Department in the Russian Foreign Ministry, Vladimir Shin, as saying during the session of the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly: “The commander of the US cyber command, Paul Nakasone, publicly admitted to launching cyber-attacks against Russia at the hands of the Ukrainian cyber army, which was founded by the Americans.” He noted that, since the beginning of this year, the number of attacks on Russian websites has increased more than four times compared to the same period last year. Most of the attacks originate from the territory of the United States and the countries of the European Union.

He continued that the dimensions of the cyber aggression confirm that it is taking place in a coordinated manner by the authorities of Western countries, with the involvement of representatives of the hacker community and private companies.

Shin pointed out that Western countries make baseless accusations against countries they do not like to distract the international community from their own actions, explaining that the aim of all this is to provide cover for the unprecedented cyber aggression launched against Russia and other countries.
