Moscow Warns West of Launching any New Aggression on Syria

NEW YORK– Russia warned the West of launching a new aggression on Syria under fabricated pretexts, stressing that the Syrian government eliminated all its chemical weapons, meantime, terrorists possess toxic chemicals, according to SANA.

Speaking at a UN Security Council’s session held on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that what really concerns is the behavior of some Western countries which fabricate groundless accusations against Syria about using banned chemical substances.

He stressed that the Syrian government has already fulfilled its obligations and disposed of all its chemical weapons as agreed by Russia and the US in 2013 and it has been verified by the UN Security Council and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical weapons.

The Russian diplomat noted that any new aggression on Syria will constitute a grave violation of the UN’s Charter and undermines efforts to reach a political settlement in Syria.

Lavrov indicated that the terrorist groups possess poisonous substances and they have learned how to produce them, moreover, they have workshops for this purpose.
