Moscow: The White House is complicit in recruiting mercenaries and sending them to Ukraine

The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned that information received about the recruitment and transfer of American citizens to take part in hostilities in Ukraine and in the popular republics of Donetsk and Lugansk indicates that they are being carried out with the complicity of the White House and US intelligence services.

The Ministry said in a statement today: We are talking about the activities of the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on the public recruitment of fighters in the so-called Foreign Legion of the Regional Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the US authorities’ leniency in such activities is more evidence that Washington is not interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but on the contrary seeks to fuel the conflict with the aim of achieving Russia’s strategic defeat.

It is noteworthy that, after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine in late February, the Kiev authorities worked to bring in thousands of mercenaries and terrorists from Western countries and the Middle East to fight alongside their forces against the Russian forces.
