Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Siromolotov stressed that the threat of terrorism has grown significantly over the past years.
In an interview with RIA Novosti broadcasted today, Siromolotov said: “New challenges have emerged that countries cannot ignore, including the use of drones by armed personnel for preparing and carrying out terrorist attacks, intensifying the recruitment of new supporters for terrorist groups inside institutions and prisons, and promoting extremist ideas using modern information and communication technologies, in addition to the emergence of new sources of financing.”
He pointed out that there is bilateral cooperation in some international forums to confront the terrorist threat in all these directions, stressing that Russia is one of the most important participants in this cooperation.
