Moscow: The status of the liberated areas will change radically after the results of the referendums
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the status of the territories liberated from the Ukrainian Nazis will fundamentally change from a legal point of view, with the implications of this for the purposes of protection and security for these lands, following the results of the accession referendums to Russia.
Russia Today website quoted Peskov as telling reporters that the Russian legal system is ready to accept new territories based on the results of referendums in Donbass. He added: “Our legislative system provides multiple options, and of course our legislators, executive authorities and legal departments are ready for that.”
For the fifth day in a row, a referendum on joining Russia is being held in Donbass and other liberated areas.
In another context, Peskov said: The pressure drop and the disruption of the operation of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines is a matter of energy security in the entire European continent.
Peskov did not rule out that the disruptions in the operation of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were the result of sabotage, and said: “It is clear that there is some kind of disruption to the pipeline, and before the results of the research appear, it is impossible to rule out any of the options to find out the cause.”
