Moscow: The Israeli Foreign Minister is trying to divert attention from the occupation of the Palestinian territories

Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly criticized the Israeli occupation entity against the backdrop of statements by its Foreign Minister Yair Lapid about suspending Russia from the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today, “The words that came from Lapid on the seventh of April are a new anti-Russian verbal attack in the context of (Israel) support for the United Nations General Assembly’s decision to suspend Russia’s membership in the Human Rights Council.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its regret and rejection of Lapid’s statements, stressing that his words represent an almost open attempt to exploit the situation around Ukraine in order to divert the international community’s attention from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which is one of the oldest unresolved conflicts.
