Moscow summons the ambassadors of the Baltic states to inform them of the decision to expel a number of their diplomats
The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned today, Tuesday, the 29th of March 2022, the ambassadors of the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, to inform them of the decision to expel a number of diplomats of their countries from Russia.
Russia Today website quoted a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying: “The three ambassadors were summoned to the Ministry’s headquarters; They will be informed of Russia’s decision to expel diplomats of those countries on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.”
On March 18, the authorities of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania issued a decision to expel a number of Russian diplomats from their territories for allegedly engaging in activities incompatible with their diplomatic status, while Moscow responded that this decision would not remain without an appropriate response.
