Moscow: OPCW Has Become a Geopolitical Tool for the Interests of Some Countries

Moscow – The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has become a geopolitical tool for the interests of a number of countries, referring to the report issued by the fact-finding mission of the organization on the alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma.

A statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry today, quoted by the agency Sputnik that after the meeting of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which was held in The Hague on March 12 and 15, we have to announce with regret that the West once again showed a destructive approach to everything in one way or another and they can explain the circumstances of what is happening in Syria in this regard.

The Permanent Representative of Syria to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Bassam al-Sabbagh, confirmed on March 11 that the final report of the fact-finding mission on the claim of the use of chemical weapons in the city of Duma on 7 April 2018 included a serious distortion concerning the facts on the ground and a lot of inconsistencies and inconsistencies, showing that the report is lacking for neutrality and objectivity..

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that they “this time banned the proposal of Russia and a number of other countries on the identification of the facts of the use of chemical weapons in Syria, with the participation of all experts of the Organization without exception who participated in the investigation of the chemical incident in the city of Douma in April 2018.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed on March 5 that ignoring the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons of information provided by Russia and Syria on the fabrication of the use of chemical weapons in Douma is worrying, noting that the conclusions provided by the mission of the investigation of the alleged chemical attack in Douma its sole purpose is to justify the triple British American French aggression to a sovereign state in violation of the Charter of the United Nations as confirmed by the BBC’s correspondent, Riyam Dalati, earlier that the investigations conducted and lasted for months about the scenes that were alleged to have been filmed at the hospital of Douma city in East Ghouta the day of the alleged chemical attack proved to be just a play.
