Moscow is ready for real negotiations, unlike the Kiev regime, says Matviyenko

MOSCOW, (ST) – The Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko announced that her country is ready to conduct negotiations on the situation in Ukraine, if the Kiev regime also shows a real willingness to do so.

Matvienko told reporters on Wednesday in Moscow that our position is clear, understandable and transparent, and we are ready for negotiations, not for promises, and without the preconditions that they are trying to present. She added that if Kiev regime is ready for real negotiations, we do not see it in this way.

She pointed out that the increased supply of arms from the United States, including offensive weapons, does not in any way indicate that it is a call for peace. She indicated that Washington is not interested in ending the crisis in Ukraine, but rather in escalating and prolonging it.
