Moscow calls on the United Nations to initiate arbitration procedures for America’s failure to fulfill its obligations towards countries

New York (ST): Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Maria Zabolotskaya, called on the Secretary-General of the Organization, Antonio Guterres, to initiate arbitration procedures, due to the United States not fulfilling its obligations towards a number of countries.

Zabolotskaya pointed out in a meeting of the Committee on Relations with the Host Party, according to what was reported by the RT website, Washington’s failure to fulfill its obligations under the World Organization’s Host Country Agreement.

Zabolotskaya explained that Russia sent 16 letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations regarding the failure of the country hosting the United Nations to implement its obligations towards a specific group of countries, considering this matter to be discrimination against those countries and their delegates.

Zabolotskaya stressed that the Secretary-General is obligated to initiate the arbitration procedure stipulated directly in Article 21 of the International Organization Convention, and he was authorized to launch it under the aforementioned article long ago by the United Nations General Assembly.
