Mortar shells hit Damascus, wounding 10 citizens

DAMASCUS,(ST)-Terrorists fired on Sunday several mortar rounds on different areas in Damascus.

At least ten citizens were lightly wounded in Kiwan area and near Higher Education Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus in two mortar attacks launched by terrorists today afternoon.

According to SANA, several mortar rounds landed in Kiwan area where five citizens were wounded and four cars were burnt.

However, the other five citizens were wounded near Higher Education Ministry’s headquarters when a mortar round landed there. Two cars were also damaged at the scene.

It was also reported that a mortar round landed on the surrounding of Radio and TV General Commission building causing material damages.

Other three mortar rounds landed on al-Abbaseyen area leaving material damages.

On the other hand, the Syrian TV channel reported that the competent authorities, in Hama, dismantled a booby-trapped car carrying 17 explosive devices, each one weights 1300 kg.
