Mortar rounds hit Tawfiq Hospital and several areas in Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Some eleven mortar rounds have struck Tawfiq Hospital and several areas in Damascus, killing a civilian and wounding more than twenty others, according to a police command source.

The source made clear that two mortar rounds-fired by terrorists- hit Tawfiq Hospital and a house near Najmeh square where a civilian was martyred and three others, including a woman, wounded.

Four more mortar rounds landed in al-Sebki garden in Sha’alan area, wounding six civilians and causing damages to several houses, shops and cars.

Another mortar fire ripped through the “29 Ayyar” Street  and Azbakeyeh junction.

“As many as eleven civilians were wounded as three mortar rounds hit the “29 Ayyar” Street  and Azbakeyeh junction,” the police command source said, adding that a fourth mortar round landed in kindergarten near Red Crescent Hospital.

No one was hurt by the mortar fire on the kindergarten.

In Kashkol quarter, a woman was wounded by shrapnel after a mortar round landed on a house there.

Several mortar rounds hit the same quarter, leaving material damages without casualties.
