Mortar rounds hit Damascus, wounding 7 civilians

DAMASCUS,(ST)_At least 7 civilians have been wounded by mortar rounds fired by terrorists on several urban areas in Damascus, according to a police command source.

The source was quoted –yesterday- on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that a mother plus 10-year-old boy were wounded when a mortar round hit the “Morshed Khater” Street in al-Azbakeyeh quarter in Damascus.

“Some 10 cars and a house in the street were damaged by the mortar fire,” the source added.

Five more civilians were wounded by mortar rounds on Barzeh al-Balad and al-Afif quarters in the same province [Damascus].

While the mortar round that hit Abo Remmaneh quarter left material damages without casualties.

Two days ago, terrorists fired mortar rounds on Faiha’a Sport City, Mazra’a quarter and George Khouri Square, killing a civilian and wounding 30 others.

Another mortar fire took place yesterday as terrorists fired mortar rounds on Qtayfeh city in Damascus countryside.

No one was hurt by the mortar attack, the official agency confirmed.
