Mortar fire on Damascus hurts 10

DAMASCUS,(ST)_At least 6 civilians were wounded on Wednesday by mortar rounds fired on Damascus, according to a police command source.

The source declared that a mortar round landed near the ‘Ghassan Abboud’ School in al-Adawi quarter, wounding almost 4 civilians and causing damages at the scene.

Two more civilians were wounded and six cars were damaged when a mortar round hit near the Industrial Bank in Fardour quarter.

While the third mortar round that landed on municipality building on the outskirt of Sabe’a Bahrat square left material damages without casualties.

A few hours later, the Syrian TV channel reported that the number of wounded civilians by mortar attacks on Damascus today reached 10 as four more civilians wounded by mortar attack on Mazra’a quarter.

Three houses plus four cars were damaged by the latest mortar attack on Mazra’a quarter, the TV channel added.

It pointed out that three mortar rounds and a missile hit al-Azbakeyeh, al-Abbaseyen, Ein Kershand al-Mohajreen quarters in Damascus, but no one was hurt.

The missile landed on a house in al-Mohajreen quarter, causing serious damage to the house.    

Last night, at least 4 civilians were hurt by mortar attacks on the ‘al-Beroni’ Hospital and the Damascus suburb of Jaramana.

Daily, foreign-backed terrorists fire mortar rounds on urban areas nationwide.
