Mortar attacks on Damascus suburbs kill 3

PROVINCES,(ST)_Mortar attacks killed on Wednesday at least three civilians and wounded a woman in Daheyet Harasta and al-Zabadani area in Damascus countryside and in Rekneddin quarter in Damascus, according to media sources.

The sources clarified that three mortar rounds- fired by terrorists- fell in Daheyet Harasta in Damascus countryside where two civilians were martyred and several cars, shops and houses were damaged.

 A third civilian was martyred in al-Zabadani area when terrorists fired a mortar round on the area.

A source at Electricity Ministry said: ” Director of Electricity Department in Zabadani area, Eng. Bassel Issa, was martyred when a mortar round landed in the area as he was observing  maintenance of medium-voltage power network.”

Armed terrorist organizations have targeted electricity workers nationwide. They have killed 216 workers, wounded 144 and kidnapped 50 till the end of June 2014.

Another mortar attack took place today in Damascus, a police command source declared.

It confirmed that a woman was hurt when three mortar rounds hit Asadeddin alley in Rekneddin  quarter in the capital [Damascus].

“Three houses and several cars were damaged at the scene,” the source added.

The US, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel support terrorist organizations operating in Syria.
