More than 80 students and trainers take part in the 10th annual robotics championship 

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, Apr.26, (ST)-With the participation of more than 80 students and trainers representing 8 robotics clubs from various provinces, the 10th annual robotics championship was held today at the Syrian Private University in the southern Damascus countryside.

The championship included 5 competitions: the Maze Competition for children in the first, second, and third grades of primary education; the Self-Driving Robot Challenge Race for students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades of primary education; the Robot Race for students in the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades of primary education; the Sumo Wrestling Robot Competition for secondary and university students; and the Robotics Projects Competition for primary, secondary, and university students.

Muhib Al-Naqri, head of the Scientific Committee for Robotics at the Syrian Science Olympiad at the Excellence and Creativity Authority, was quoted by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) as saying that the tournament was organized in cooperation with the Syrian Robotics Academy “Sera Robo,” the Human Resources Management Foundation, and the Syrian Private University.

According to Al-Naqri, the tournament aims to help school and university students and those interested in robotics and artificial intelligence in Syria showcase their potential and capabilities and open up new horizons for specializations by engaging them in exciting technological competitions.

Participants will design and program robots that compete with each other.
