More than 752,000 people crossed into Russia from Ukraine and Donbas

MOSCOW – Over 752,000 people have arrived in Russia from Ukraine and Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, a source in security agencies told TASS.

“During the last 24 hours, about 26,600 people crossed the Russian border from Ukraine and Donbas. Overall, over 752,000 people have arrived in the Russian Federation, including over 144,000 children,” the source said.

About 20,000 people cross the border daily, the source said.

According to the source, over 614,000 people arrived in Russia from DPR and LPR, while 138,000 arrived from Ukraine through checkpoints in Belgorod, Kursk, Bryanks Region and the Republic of Crimea. Over 30,000 evacuees are currently in 474 temporary accommodation sites in 41 Russian regions.

Donstek: 587 people have been evacuated from Mariupol during the past 24 hours

On the other hand in Donetsk, the headquarters of the regional defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic announced that 587 people, including 96 children, were evacuated from the city of Mariupol to the village of Bizymenoye in the Novoazovsky District, during the past 24 hours.

RT website quoted a statement issued by the headquarters on Tuesday as saying that the evacuees are currently in the center for providing assistance to civilians, which was set up by the forces of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Donetsk Republic.

The statement indicated that 16,342 people have so far been evacuated to the village of Bizimenoe, where humanitarian services are being provided for  them.
