More than 75 local and Arab companies in Sila International Shoes and Leather Exhibition

Damascus (ST): With the participation of more than 75 local and Arab companies, the activities of the 14th Sila International Footwear and Leather Exhibition kicked off  in the new exhibition city in Damascus, organized by the Arab Federation of Leather Industries and organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry.

The exhibition, which includes various industries of men’s, women’s, children’s and sports shoes and their accessories, in addition to leather clothing, bags, leather and accessories, continues until the 18th of this month.

Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh underlined the importance of this exhibition, which has become an annual tradition to display the latest findings of industrialists in the field of leather and shoes from various governorates, which indicates the qualitative development of this industry and its requirements, which are comparable in quality to European products.

Minister Sabbagh indicated that the Ministry of Industry and the government team are seeking to search for everything that would facilitate the work of industrialists in terms of exporting and importing raw materials, pointing to the launch of several programs whose outputs have begun to appear on the ground, such as a program to replace imports alternatives, in addition to supporting exports and providing incentives and facilities for exporters according to the quality and quantity of the goods.

In a statement to news reporter, the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Leather Industries, Muhammad Kazara, pointed out that this exhibition session is distinguished from its predecessors with the participation of companies from Arab countries as exhibitors besides visitors, which indicates the importance that Sila Fair has reached at the level of the Arab world.

He also referred to the qualitative development of the Syrian product in each session of the exhibition and this confirms its ability to compete and prove its presence in the Arab markets.
