More than 70 companies introduce their shoes, clothing, leather products at “Dahab Expo 2” in Damascus

Under the slogan “The nobility of the profession and the elegance of production,” and with the participation of 75 local and foreign companies specialize in shoes, clothing, leather goods and production supplies, the activities of the “Dahab Expo 2”, kicked off on Thursday at the New Fairgrounds in Damascus.
The three-day exhibition, which is organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences in cooperation with the ministry of industry,  confirms the group’s commitment to supporting the national economy by holding these exhibitions, believing that it will be an opportunity to build strategic relationships that enhance future cooperation, in addition to including many products for all options of elegance and beauty.
In a press conference attended by the “Syria Times”, Representative of the Minister of Industry, Dr. Khaldoun Harba, Director General of the General Corporation for Chemical Industries, stressed the importance of the exhibition in introducing the quality of Syrian products of leather, shoes and clothing, promoting them and increasing their sales.
He pointed out that a General Corporation for Chemical Industries has two companies concerned with these exhibitions. The first is the General Company for Shoe Industries and the second is the General Company for Tanning Industries.
“This exhibition is our pride as Syrians in general and ministry of industry in particular .  It expressed  the Syrians’ insistence on continuing to give and contribute to taking part effectively in rebuilding their country”.
For his part, Director General of the General Organization for International Markets Exhibitions Halim Al-Akhras stressed the importance of holding these specialized exhibitions because they have a positive impact during this period which  the country and the Syrian economy are going through, as they contribute to shedding light on the Syrian quality products, besides being an opportunity to open markets for the export of Syrian products.
Al-Akhras, pointed out that the exhibition shows the value of the Syrian industry that compete with Arab and international products.
General Director of Mashhadani International Group Khalaf Al-Mashhadani told journslists that these exhibitions are held as economic windows and an opportunity to introduce the level of the industrial sector.
He stressed “Today we have seen a large number of pioneer Syrian industrialists in the field of shoe and leather industry. The presence of industrialists as well as foreign visitors will help spread this advanced industry and ability to compete with high quality and elegance and this industry is consistent with the slogan of this exhibition, “The nobility of the profession and the elegance of production.”
“The exhibition includes a variety of products that cover all fashion trends and meet the needs of the local and foreign markets, and reflect the development that Syrian industries are keeping pace with, noting the diversity of participation in the exhibition this year, especially the participation of China ” Al-Mashhadani said.
He pointed out  that” in the first edition  of this exhibition, 50 models were completed.
Today in this exhibition in its second edition, there are more than 100 completed models , and this indicates the interest of the participants and the expansion of production and varieties. It is expected that all products will be exported in this exhibition and not just registering applications for export”.
“Syrians are resistant, and the strength of the Syrian industrialists and their insistence on continuing production will contribute to advancing the economy”, Mashhadani concluded.

At the Chinese pavilion , Syria Times met Mr. Alaa Eddin Dabbas, who is a Syrian industrialist residing in China and the owner of the Alaa Eddin Trading Company for export in China.

“This is the first participation of our company, which specializes in manufacturing footwear supplies, raw materials, and supplying production lines in this field,” Dabbas said.

He stressed “We were very impressed by the title of the exhibition, Dahab (Gold)…our country, Syria is gold with everything it contains of sectors, including industry, agriculture and trade”.

Dabbas pointed out “our participation aims to encourage Syrian industry and exchange experiences through the broad participation of a large number of companies from several governorates, including Aleppo, Tartous, Lattakia, and Hama”.

He added, “We are transferring the Chinese style to Syria and the Syrian style to China through our participation in the exhibitions held in both countries to highlight the Syrian products that are distinguished by their high quality”.

He added they chose to wear the Chinese costume that represents the Chinese city of Hangzhou , and the pavilion, in its design, represents the kings of China.

“Agreements will be concluded at the end of the exhibition, and we, as industrialists inside and outside the country, must contribute effectively to reviving and advancing the economic wheel,” Dabbas affirmed.
