More than 55,000 Syrian refugees have returned from Jordan to their country since the fall of Assad regime
55,732 Syrian refugees, registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), have voluntarily returned to Syria from Jordan since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8th, 2024 and until April 12th, 2025, the UNHCR announced.
Data monitored by the Jordanian Al Mamlaka TV channel indicated that 54 percent of those returning from Jordan to Syria during that period were whole families, totaling 29,924, while the families who returned partially constituted 46 percent, totaling 25,808.
Regarding the places of residence of the returning refugees within Jordan prior to their return, the report showed that 17 percent of them were residing in camps, while the vast majority, 83 percent, were residing in urban areas.
