More than 40 Arab, Foreign and Local Companies Participate in “RAWMIEX” Expo

DAMASCUS- More than 40 Arab, foreign and local companies are taking part in the 1st exhibition of Raw Materials and Infrastructure Requirements Exhibition “RAWMIEX” which kicked off on Sunday at Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali Ghanem, in a statement during the opening, underlined the importance of the exhibition with regard to the timing and the content as it is the first specialized expo in Syria, according to SANA.

Ghanem indicated that Petroleum Ministry is keen on participating in the expo through its products of raw materials which are required for building and construction such as marble and natural asphalt and others with the aim of encouraging the industry and the national products.

For his part, Director General of Mashhadani Group Khalaf Mashhadani said that the decision to hold the expo came after conducting a study on the local market and the reality of the Syrian industry which showed that there is a huge need for guaranteeing raw materials.

Khalaf added that “The expo is also the first of its kind on the regional level as it embraces raw materials and requirements of infrastructure and production and it is specialized in certain materials,” indicating that the expo will be held annually.

The expo, organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, will last till November 7th. It is the first of its kind on the local level as it focuses on domains of raw materials and infrastructure requirements.
