Damascus (ST) :The number of citizens who have registered to benefit from the National Campaign of Emergency Social Response has risen to 305695 including 248530 workers who had stopped work as a result of the precautionary measures taken to confront the Corana-virus pandemic, 32709 citizens over 70 years old and 24456 with special needs.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs issued a report in which it said that the registration process through the digital channel has succeeded at a rate of 90 % and the technical team in the ministry is dealing with all the difficulties that hinder the process, noting that there are voluntary groups that help people who are not able to register in the campaign.
The report added that compensation will be distributed through the National Fund for Social Aid and priority will be given to daily workers in the field of transport, especially micro-bus drivers, handicrafts-men, tourist guides and builders.
The Ministry launched the campaign on April 16 and said that the recompense would be paid for one time with a maximum sum of 100,000 Syrian pounds for workers who stopped working because of the preventive measures adopted to confront the fatal Corona virus.
Regarding the funding sources of the campaign, the Ministry said that several domestic societies from various governorates contributed sums, food and medical baskets, referring that a number of international organizations also contributed aid to support the campaign financially and through medical and food baskets.
