More infections and deaths from the Coronavirus around the world

Capitals, (ST) –    Russia recorded 450 deaths and 27,328 new infections of Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, coinciding with the launch of a massive vaccination campaign in various regions of the country.

The Russian Center for Epidemic Control stated that the total number of infections reached two million and 681256, of whom 47,391 died, and two million and 124797 recovered.

The center indicated that 18.9% of the new infections did not show symptoms of the disease.

The Ukrainian health authorities also recorded 93 deaths and 6,451 new cases of the coronavirus during the past 24 hours.

Ukrainian Health Minister Maxim Stepanov stated that the total number of coronavirus in the country exceeded 900,000.

The Ukrainian government announced last week that it would impose strict measures from the 8th to the 24th of next January, including closing schools, cafes, restaurants, gyms and entertainment centers, and banning public gatherings to limit the spread of the virus.

In South Korea, seven deaths and 718 new cases of the virus were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 587 and infections to 43,484.

South Korean government decided to close schools from tomorrow until the end of the month in the capital, Seoul, and the surrounding areas, in an effort to address the worst outbreak of the Corona virus in the country since the start of the pandemic, and studying in these schools will become online.

The Indian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 336 deaths and more than 27 thousand new cases of the coronavirus during the last 24 hours.

The Ministry stated that 27,071 new infections were recorded, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 9884,100, while the number of deaths reached 355,143.

India is the second country in the world with the number of people infected with the virus, after the United States, and the third in terms of the number of deaths, after the United States and Brazil.

The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 21,825 new infections and 279 deaths from the virus during the past twenty-four hours, which represents a significant decrease compared to yesterday’s statistic.

The ministry stated in its daily report, which was published on its website, that the total number of  corona virus infections in Brazil since the beginning of the pandemic until now reached six million and 901952 infections, and the total deaths reached 181,402 cases, while the total cases of recovery from Corona infection reached five million and 982953 cases.

Brazil ranks second in the list of countries most affected by Corona in the world in terms of deaths after the United States and third in terms of infections after the United States and India.
