ALEPPO, (ST)- Tens of families left eastern Aleppo neighborhoods on Tuesday and a number of gunmen turned themselves along with their weapons in to authorities in order to get their legal status settled in accordance with the recently issued amnesty decree No. 15 for 2016.
According to SANA reporter in Aleppo, the families got out through Sheikh Saeed corridor which was set by the governorate of Aleppo to help the locals, besieged by terrorists, leave safely. The army personnel received the families and transferred them to makeshift centers in cooperation with concerned parties.
The reporter said that a number of gunmen handed over their weapons and turned themselves in to the Syrian army in order to have their status settled and to restore their normal life after they promise not to return to any kind of activities that harm the homeland’s security.
Last Saturday, tens of families also went out of the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo through the corridors which Aleppo Governorate has specified for the safe departure of the civilians besieged by the terrorist groups in these neighborhoods. They reached Salah-Eddin neighborhood where the Syrian army received them and sent them in cooperation with concerned authorities to makeshift centers.
On July 28, President Al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 15 for 2016 granting amnesty to all gunmen who hand themselves and their weapons over.
