More applications are submitted to run for Presidential elections

The People’s Assembly [Parliament] was notified on Sunday by the Supreme Constitutional Court that three new applications were submitted by citizens Inas Marwan Al-Qawadri and Adnan Al-Dahhan and Mohammad Al-Salah to run for Presidential elections.

So far, the number citizens who have applied to run for President’s position is 21, including 3 women.

Last week, Speaker of the Parliament Hammodah, Sabbagh announced the commencement of nominations for Presidential elections on Monday April 19th, calling on those who wish to submit their  applications to the Supreme Constitutional Court within a period of 10 days which ends by Wednesday April 28th 2021.

The presidential elections are to be held on May, 26, 2021 in Syria, while they will be held on May, 20, 2021 for Syrians living abroad.
