Number of victims of terrorist booby trapped cars that hit the Iraqi capital Baghdad yesterday increased to at 65 people and injuring more than 190 others .
AFP quoted medical and security sources as saying that 12 booby trapped cars and two explosive devices targeted different areas in Baghdad and the adjoining al-Madaen area.
Earlier, the sources said that at least 30 people were killed and more than 100 others wounded in a series of terrorist booby trapped cars rocked different parts of Baghdad.
“Two booby trapped cars exploded in central Baghdad’s Karrada area, before two cars explosions in the south of the capital,” according to a police colonel and a source at the Interior Ministry .
Minutes after the simultaneous bombings, two booby trapped cars exploded in Topchi area north of Baghdad, two others in the Bayaa and Zafarania quarters , south of Baghdad, and one car to the east of the capital.
The deadliest bombings occurred in Karrada, where nine people were killed and dozens injured in the two car explosions in the main shopping street in rush hour.
However, number of victims of the bombings and terrorist acts in Iraq, exceeded 500 since the beginning of this month, according to the toll by AFP prepared on the basis of security , military and medical sources.
Iraqi army arrested 41 al-Qaeda terrorists killed 3 , confiscated weapons in Anbar, Kirkuk
On the other hand, the Iraqi army arrested 41 members of al-Qaeda terrorists , killed other 3 and confiscated large quantities of arms and ammunition in Anbar and Kirkuk provinces.
The sources said that the Iraqi security forces thwarted a terrorist attack by an armed group on a checkpoint in Anbar Island killed 3 terrorists , arrested 6 others and seized two booby trapped cars manned by the terrorist group.
The Iraqi forces also arrested 11 terrorists in Anbar desert , while Kirkuk police arrested 24 terrorists in five villages in Kirkuk province.
In Anbar province ,dozens of anti-armored vehicles rockets , shelling and quantities TNT ethylene were seized in al- Ayatieh area near the border with Syria and 33 bombs found in one of al-Qaeda affiliated centers, were defused .
The security forces began counting number of nomads in Western Sahara adjacent to the Syrian border and issued cards for them and dedicated patrols to inspect gas stations, rest restaurants, and auto repair shops along the road linking Iraq, Syria and Jordan.
